Setting Up Locations

Locations in Church RSVP represent where your event takes place.

Understanding Location Types

Physical Locations

Physical locations are for in-person events at a specific address—like church services at your building, conferences, or retreats. You’ll provide a venue name and street address.

Virtual Locations

Virtual locations are for online events accessed via a URL. Think livestreamed services, virtual conferences, or online meetings. You’ll provide a platform name (like “YouTube Live”) and the meeting URL.

Hybrid Events

Hybrid events offer both physical and virtual options for the same event. This works well for in-person services with a livestream, multi-campus events with an online option, or when you want maximum accessibility.

When to Use Multiple Locations

Multi-Campus Churches

Create a location for each campus:

Downtown Campus - 123 Main St
North Campus - 456 Oak Ave
South Campus - 789 Elm Dr
Online - YouTube livestream

Then create occurrences for each location at your service times. Attendees choose their campus when RSVPing.

Multiple Rooms at Same Campus

Less common, but useful if you host services in different rooms:

Main Sanctuary - 500 capacity
Fellowship Hall - 150 capacity

Create separate occurrences for each room. This lets you manage different capacities per space.

Common Scenarios

Single Campus, One Service Time

  1. Create one physical location
  2. Create occurrence with that location

Multi-Campus, Same Service Times

  1. Create location for each campus
  2. Create occurrence for each campus at same time (9:00 AM Downtown, 9:00 AM North, etc.)
  3. Attendees choose their campus when RSVPing

Service with Livestream Option

  1. Create physical location (Main Sanctuary)
  2. Create virtual location (YouTube Live)
  3. Create separate occurrences for in-person and online
  4. Attendees choose how they want to attend

Christmas Eve - Multiple Campuses, Multiple Times

  1. Create location for each campus + online
  2. Create occurrences for each time at each location
